Developer Notes #13 Details 7DS Origin Version 1.5 Raid, Gear Revamp, and Merlin Preview
Netmarble's latest official notices turn the early Version 1.5 roadmap into a much clearer update preview. Developer Notes #13 outlines the new weekly Raid, dungeon and growth-system changes, Star Trace Crystalloid handling, Daisy follow-up plans, and Time Attack ranking notes. A separate equipment notice confirms that the equipment balance revamp is scheduled for the June 4 maintenance.
Version 1.5 Focus
The biggest confirmed addition is the new weekly Raid. Netmarble says Raid is being built for party play with up to five members, with rewards available up to two times per week. The studio is currently preparing the mode to award about 1,000 Star Fragments per week, with more exact details due in the full update notice.
Version 1.5 also reshuffles dungeon content. Ferzen Mines and Deep Spider Nest will be temporarily removed while Netmarble renews older dungeon formats. The Capital of the Dead will remain available, but its role is being changed toward easier Dungeon Elite Boss content with adjusted rewards. Dungeon rewards are planned to move into Boss Challenges instead of disappearing, and Netmarble says existing Boss Challenge rewards should remain while the transferred rewards are added separately.
Growth and Star Trace Changes
The update is also aimed at reducing progression friction. Field Elite Monster reward cubes are planned to stop requiring Cube Keys, though Gold and Mastery EXP will be removed from that unlimited farming loop. Netmarble also plans to add a recipe that lets players craft SSR Magic Crystal Shards from SR Magic Crystal Shards, which should make Weapon Limit Break progression less restrictive.
The Star Trace Crystalloid issue from the May 26 patch now has a clearer follow-up. After Version 1.5, Star Trace Crystalloid is planned to be distributed from two routes: gaining Potential points through Mastery after a hero reaches the highest Potential tier, and acquiring a hero through 120 Loyalty draws in the Hero Pick Up Draw. Netmarble also says eligible players who missed Star Trace Crystalloid before the update will receive retroactive distribution, with duplicate amounts deducted where needed. A 1,000 Star Fragment apology reward is planned after the Version 1.5 update.
Equipment Revamp
The equipment notice gives the June 4 maintenance a concrete gear angle. Crafted equipment will no longer be locked to a single fixed quality; the old fixed value becomes the minimum, and each item can roll up to a listed maximum quality. The announced ranges include accessories and armor pieces reaching as high as 125 quality, depending on the set.
Engraved Equipment and Armor will also be equippable at the same time by part. That means players should be able to use Engraved Equipment passives alongside five-piece or larger armor set effects. Netmarble is adjusting armor secondary bonuses, armor passives, and set-effect values around that new stacking structure.
Gluttonous Soul weapons are getting new sub options as well: Longsword gains Attack Increase, Axe gains Crit Damage, Sword and Shield gains Ultimate Move Damage Increase, and Rapier gains Wind Burst Efficiency.
Daisy and Merlin
Daisy is getting a specific Potential follow-up in Version 1.5. Netmarble says her Tier 6 Potential effect will apply as: landing a Normal Attack or Ultimate Move decreases the enemy's Crit Defense by 15% for 20 seconds. Because the earlier issue involved incorrect performance guidance in some languages, a Daisy Pick Up Draw rerun is planned during the Version 1.5 period, with a 120-draw guaranteed acquisition opportunity and shared guarantee-count behavior with the existing Hero Pick Up Draw.
Netmarble also scheduled a Version 1.5 special livestream for June 1 at 11:00 UTC across its Korean, Japanese, and global YouTube channels. The official livestream notice lists a first look at new character Merlin, a new main story overview, and a new content overview as the main segments.
What to Watch Next
This is a meaningful update cycle because Version 1.5 appears to respond directly to player fatigue around dungeons, Cube Keys, equipment value, and progression resources. The main unknowns are the final Raid reward table, the exact Boss Challenge reward transfer details, and the full list of equipment value adjustments. Those should be confirmed in the full Version 1.5 update details before the June 4 maintenance.
