Diane Build Guide: Best Weapons, Armor & Team Comps — 7DS Origin
Diane Overview & Lore
Diane is a member of The Seven Deadly Sins who bears the symbol of the Serpent's Sin of Envy. Falsely accused of treason in the past, she went into hiding in the Forest of White Dreams until reuniting with her beloved captain, Meliodas. In The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, she is an SSR-rarity frontline powerhouse who excels as a bruiser, controlling space and crushing armored foes.
Best Weapons and Element
Diane's abilities revolve around the Earth element. She has access to three weapon types, each altering her bruiser playstyle:
- Cudgel / Nunchaku (Best Overall / Utility): According to the current meta, this is Diane's standout weapon. It allows her to deal solid damage while quickly charging the Burst Gauge. Its defining feature is the "Desert Sands" skill, which inflicts Petrify. Petrify incapacitates enemies and makes them take 50% more Physical and Earth damage, making it a massive multiplier for your team.
- Axe (Best for Burst Damage & Stun): This weapon focuses on the "Breaker" mechanic. Her skills inflict massive damage that scales heavily with her Defense stat and stuns enemies. It also features huge damage amplifiers (like a 50% Crit Damage boost) when attacking enemies with an active Earth Burst.
- Gauntlets (Best for Pure Tanking): This loadout turns Diane into an immovable object. Her Ultimate Move grants "Heavy Metal," which makes her immune to Reactions, increases the Burst Gauge generation of her attacks, and grants Shatter Resistance.
Best Armor & Stats
While specific named best-in-slot armor sets are currently "under construction" in the game's database, Diane's unique scaling dictates her gear priority:
- Best Stats: You should prioritize Defense and Max HP alongside Attack. Diane is a true bruiser; many of her most devastating mechanics (like her Axe's Breaker inflicting 150% of Defense as damage, or her Cudgel's Heart of the Land healing based on her Defense) scale directly off her defensive stats.
- Best Costumes:
- The Serpent Sin of Envy: Ideal for the Axe build. Hitting enemies affected by Breaker decreases her normal skill cooldown by up to 20% and increases Earth damage by up to 8% (stackable).
- Cheerful Girl: Excellent for sustain. Using her Ultimate restores up to 15% of her Max HP whenever Shatter Resistance is gained, and boosts normal skill damage during a Burst.
Best Team Compositions
Diane fits perfectly into Earth-centric teams or setups that need a durable frontline controller.
- The Optimal Earth Team: Diane (Main DPS/Bruiser), Elaine (Sub-DPS), King (Main Support), Hendrickson (Support). This is widely considered one of the most complete teams in the game. Diane acts as the core damage dealer and tank. King is absolutely mandatory here, as he provides up to an 80% attack buff for Earth units, while Elaine helps trigger the Earth Bursts. (Note: Tioreh can easily be swapped in as a support/healer as well).
- Sub-DPS / Burst Battery Team: Meliodas (Main DPS), Jericho (Sub-DPS), Mannie (Support 1), Diane (Support 2). In this setup, Diane is used primarily for her Cudgel's utility, applying debuffs and Petrify to set up massive execution windows for Meliodas and Jericho.
Key Playstyle Tips
- Master the Petrify Debuff: When using her Cudgel, your primary goal is to apply the Petrify status effect. Because this debuff increases Physical and Earth damage taken by a massive 50%, you should always aim to Petrify a boss right before swapping to your main DPS or unleashing your Ultimate.
- Leverage Defense for Offense: Diane is designed to take hits. Because her damage and utility tools scale with her Defense stat, building her to be tanky inherently makes her hit harder. Don't be afraid to stay in the thick of the fight to absorb damage for your more fragile teammates.
- Capitalize on Earth Bursts: Diane's passive abilities and skills gain huge amplifiers when an Earth Burst is active. Coordinate with your team (like Elaine or King) to trigger the Burst, then swap to Diane to unleash her enhanced skills—like her Axe's Charged Slash—for maximum devastation.
