Overview & Lore

Dreyfus is an SR-rarity swordsmanship instructor in the Kingdom of Liones who once served as a Grandmaster of the Holy Knights. After spending ten years possessed by the Demon Fraudrin, he now dedicates himself to training the next generation. In combat, he operates as a high-damage bruiser whose abilities reward calculated aggression and careful timing, thriving when capitalizing on elemental Bursts.

Best Weapons and Element

Dreyfus is a versatile damage dealer whose element and role shift based on the weapon he has equipped:

  • Longsword (Earth - Best for Earth Synergy/Bruiser): This is his premier bruiser loadout. His abilities deal bonus damage to enemies affected by an Earth Burst, and his Terra Slash inflicts "Pride," which increases the damage the enemy takes from him by 20%. Furthermore, his Ultimate Move deals a massive 50% extra damage to Petrified enemies.
  • Rapier (Best for DoT/Debuff Synergy): This loadout shifts Dreyfus into a fast-paced debuffer. His skills restore resources and decrease cooldowns when attacking enemies afflicted by "Shock" or "Bleed". He continuously applies "Weaken" stacks to increase the Damage-over-Time (DoT) the enemy takes, and at max stacks, his Ultimate Move will Stun them.
  • Lance (Best for Critical Burst): This weapon turns Dreyfus into a precision striker who excels against shielded enemies. He builds stacks of "Surge" with his skills to boost his Critical Damage. At 5 stacks, he gains "Enhanced Surge," which boosts Crit Damage by 40% and guarantees his Ultimate Move will be a devastating Critical Hit.

Best Armor & Stats

Specific named best-in-slot armor sets are currently marked as "under construction" in the game's database [6-8]. However, as an aggressive bruiser, you should prioritize Attack, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage to maximize his offensive scaling.

You should highly prioritize equipping Costumes that synergize with your chosen weapon:

  • Simple Attire (Best for Longsword): Attacking a Petrified enemy increases the duration of the Petrify effect and heavily restores the Tag Gauge. It also passively boosts the Earth damage of his Ultimate Move.
  • Old Soldier's Honor (Best for Rapier): Landing his Special Attack on an enemy taking DoT increases the DoT duration by up to 10 seconds and drastically reduces his Special Attack cooldown.

Best Team Compositions

Dreyfus shines when placed in teams that can trigger his specific weapon synergies:

  • The Earth Control Team: Diane (Main DPS/Petrify), Elaine (Earth Support), King (Buffer), Dreyfus (Longsword Sub-DPS). Diane and Elaine excel at inflicting the "Petrify" status effect. You can swap to Dreyfus to drop his Longsword Ultimate on the Petrified boss to capitalize on his massive 50% damage multiplier.
  • The DoT Synergy Team: Gilthunder (Shock), Howzer (Bleed), Dreyfus (Rapier Sub-DPS), Hendrickson (Healer). Dreyfus's Rapier kit directly feeds off the Shock and Bleed applied by Gilthunder and Howzer, allowing him to rapidly stack "Weaken" and Stun the enemy.
  • The "Inherited Will" Achievement Team: Dreyfus, Hendrickson, and Howzer. While maybe not the most optimized meta team, running these three characters together allows you to work towards maxing their Shared Mastery, which is required to unlock the Inherited Will Gold Trophy.

Key Playstyle Tips

  • Master the "Pride" and Petrify Combo: When using the Longsword, always ensure you apply "Pride" with your Terra Slash to increase your personal damage. Coordinate with an Earth teammate to Petrify the boss before dropping your Earth Break Ultimate to secure your execution damage.
  • Manage Your Surge Stacks: With the Lance, patience is key. Do not waste your Light Spear Ultimate Move until you have reached 5 "Surge" stacks to trigger "Enhanced Surge". This ensures your Ultimate is a guaranteed Critical Hit and hits as hard as possible.
  • Use Him as a Mining Scout, Not a Miner: Outside of combat, Dreyfus has an incredible Adventure Skill that marks nearby minerals and improves mining efficiency. However, if he is using a light weapon like a Rapier, he is terrible at actually breaking the nodes. Use him to spot the ore on the minimap, then swap to a heavy-weapon character (like Tristan or Slader) to quickly extract it.
