Howzer Build Guide: Best Weapons, Armor & Team Comps — 7DS Origin
Overview & Lore
Howzer is an SR-rarity character and the current Grandmaster of the Holy Knights of the Kingdom of Liones. Born a commoner, he climbed the ranks using his powerful "Tempest" magic and possesses an unwavering sense of duty to protect the realm and honor his fallen comrades. In combat, he is a fast-paced Wind-element DPS who thrives on applying Bleed effects and capitalizing on critical strikes during elemental Bursts.
Best Weapons and Element
Howzer exclusively uses the Wind element, but his role shifts depending on the weapon he equips:
- Lance
(Best for Raw DPS & Bleed Application): This is his premier damage-dealing weapon. His passive increases his Wind damage by up to 24% when attacking enemies during a Wind Burst. The core loop involves using his Active Third skill to gain "Gust," which then allows his Normal Skill to inflict "Bleed" (dealing continuous Wind damage and reducing the enemy's healing efficiency). - Gauntlets
(Best for Wind Team Support): This loadout turns Howzer into a combo-heavy sub-DPS. His passive increases any allied hero's Wind damage by 20% when they attack a Bleeding enemy. His skills have a high chance to reset his own cooldowns, and his Ultimate Move massively buffs all allied Wind heroes' Crit Damage by 30%. - Nunchaku / Cudgel
(Best for Utility & Resistance Shred): This defensive loadout allows Howzer to generate Barriers for the entire team. Its greatest asset is its passive, which decreases the enemy's Wind Resistance by 15% whenever Howzer attacks them during an active Wind Burst.
Best Armor, Stats & Costumes
While specific named best-in-slot armor sets are currently marked as "under construction" in the game data, Howzer should be built with aggressive stats. Prioritize Attack, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage to capitalize on the Wind element's focus on critical strikes.
Equipping specific Costumes provides him with massive passive advantages that tie his build together:
- Holy Knight of Storms (Best for Lance/Bleed): Each hit on a Bleeding enemy increases his Wind damage by up to 45%. When fully stacked, it can reduce his Normal Skill cooldown by up to 100%, allowing him to spam his heaviest attacks.
- End-of-Day Mug of Ale (Best for Crit Builds): Every Critical Hit he lands increases his Wind damage by up to 30% for 10 seconds.
- Secure Adventure (Best for Utility): Landing his Special Attack heavily decreases the enemy's Crit Defense and has a high chance to inflict Bleed on its own.
Best Team Compositions
Howzer is a core component of the wind-element meta, which relies heavily on delivering massive critical damage while the Wind Burst is active.
- The Optimal Wind Team: Elaine (Support), Tristan (Sub-DPS), Howzer (DPS), Hendrickson (Support).
- Strategy: In this composition, Tristan uses his Longsword to apply Bleed and amplify the team's Wind damage. Elaine acts as a Burst battery to quickly trigger the Wind Burst. Once the Burst is active and the enemy is bleeding, you swap to Howzer to unleash his enhanced skills and melt the enemy's health bar.
Key Playstyle Tips
- Master the Bleed Synergy: Howzer's kit heavily rewards attacking Bleeding enemies. Whether you are using his Lance to apply it yourself or relying on a teammate like Tristan, ensure the enemy is actively bleeding before you dump your hardest-hitting cooldowns.
- Capitalize on Wind Bursts: Do not waste Howzer's Ultimate Move or enhanced Normal Skills outside of a Burst window. Wait for your support characters to activate the Wind Burst first, as Howzer's passives provide massive damage multipliers and resistance shreds specifically during this time.
- Prioritize His Mastery for Trophies: If you are an achievement hunter, Howzer is your most valuable early-game investment. He is the only character required for two separate Gold trophies: Trio of Troublemakers (which requires maxing the Shared Mastery for Howzer, Gilthunder, and Griamore) and Inherited Will (which requires Dreyfus, Hendrickson, and Howzer). Maxing Howzer's Shared Mastery first saves significant resources.
